Chris Painter
Head of Policy
Chris has a background in finance, robotics, and ML, with a focus on problems in medicine and biology. Early in his career, he worked on applying deep learning to develop emergency room diagnostics and advance protein structure prediction at 4Catalyzer LLC. He also received an Emergent Ventures grant for work in biotechnology. Before joining METR, he was a Technology and National Security Fellow at the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, and led the Business Operations team at Alvea.
